BLONDE MEDICINE TEST PRESSINGS
Holy smokes! You got a test pressing. That’s a super-duper rare thing to occur. For some of our vinyl runs, we get 4 test pressings from our vinyl manufacturer. 90+% of the time, we run jobs with a UK-based company called Packaged Sounds. Our account manager there is from the East Bay and is an old friend of The Love Songs whose 2019 release The Loneliest Whale (BM019) was our first pressing with them. In the first 12 months of working with them, we ran nine jobs:
• Janelle James - Black & Mild (BMH140)
• Kaseem Bentley - Lakeview (BM013)
• The Love Songs - The Loneliest Whale (BM019)
• Bethany Van Delft - I’m Not a Llama (BM025)
• Pier 69 - Junior Varsity (BM027)
• Andie Main - Magpie (BM028)
• Torio Van Grol - Magic Knees (BM029)
• Kyle Ayers - Happiness (BM041)
• Von Pea - Pea’s Gotta Have It (BM055)
Since then, we’ve ran more:
• Von Pea & Æon - Duly Noted (The Complete Series) (BM062-2)
• E L U C I D & Von Pea - Dirtee Deacon in T.S.O.Pea (BM063)
• Valerie Tosi - Beach Trash (BM071)
• Dhaya Lakshminarayanan - Dhayatribe (BM072)
• Karinda Dobbins - Black & Blue (BM073)
• Irene Tu - We’re Done Now (BM076)
• Amy Miller - California King (BM078)
As time goes on, we’ll press more vinyl and have more releases with test pressings out there in the world.
For each pressing, Blonde Medicine keeps 2 test pressings and sends the other 2 to the artist. Test Pressings 1 and 2 stay with the label. Numbers 3 and 4 go to the artist. Where they go from there… who knows? If you know where any of them have landed, fill out the form below and we’ll track them here on the site.
