Oh no!

The Love Songs’ record release show for the newest album, “The Loneliest Whale,” has some competition! Will the boys triumph? Will they fail?  Will Brad get charged roaming fees? Will Salem have to fend off the advances of numerous retirees? Will Frank be able to flatten the 11th in a C# Dorian scale? Will Craig even notice that his guitar has no neck??  Tune in to find out!

MEET THE CAST

“WEIRD AL” YANKOVIC

The legendary, GRAMMY Award-winning, beloved-by-generations, parody and accordion virtuoso is coming to town. And while the band would normally be celebrating this event, their hero becomes the villain of this story when it’s determined that Al is playing on the same night as their show. Can this heel turn and become the hero he once was?

JONAH RAy

When Jonah Ray first heard the Jonah Raydio show he just knew he had to be a part of it.  Now, through hard work and a serendipitous name, he’s the host!  Like Rodney On the ROQ and John Peel before him, Jonah has introduced the world to scores of now-legendary artists, from himself to Turd Purse. Will his on-air plug of The Love Songs provide them the exposure they need to play THE BEST CONCERT EVER?

KIRK HAMMETT

One of the most celebrated guitarists in rock history, Kirk Hammett made a name for himself by playing lead guitar in one of the greatest Metal bands of all time - Metallica. But his true passion is working the door at basement shows in Oakland Berkeley. Does he have what it takes to be the best? Or will he be doomed to a life of playing the guitar forever?

NARDWUAR THE HUMAN SERVIETTE

When he’s not conducting the world’s most fascinating interviews, Nardwuar can be found at EVERY East Bay Basement Punk Show. We know he’s from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but such is the power and omnipotence of Nardwuar. The man is everywhere. But what has more pull - his Punk fandom, or his bladder? Is it possible that Nardwuar's urine is the most valuable item on Discogs?

KAMALA PARKS

From co-founding 924 Gilman Street to playing drums in numerous bands to booking tours for musical legends like the Offspring, Operation Ivy, and Neurosis, Kamala’s contributions to the Bay Area music scene are legendary. But she is perhaps best known for her imaginary community bulletin board mounted in the rear of a fictitious pharmacy in a make-believe cartoon. Whether you’re pretend-looking for the coolest underground events or black market internal organs, her not-real corkboard has you covered.

DEXTER HOLLAND

When you’ve been in the game long enough you no longer need to prove your mettle. With the respect and power that comes from years of hard work and commitment, one also earns the freedom to convey much by saying little. Whether he's fronting The Offspring, using his Ph.D. in molecular biology to concoct his own line of hot sauces under the brand Gringo Bandito, or doing his best to match what ever shirt "Weird Al" is wearing, Dexter says only what need be said.

DICK LUCAS

In 1980 Dick formed the seminal band, Subhumans (whose own new release, “Crisis Point,” is as intense and poignant as ever). But it wasn’t until this feature came along that he achieved his longtime dream of acting off-screen as the director of a deleted scene from an animated short.

BOBBY JOE EBOLA AND THE CHILDREN MACNUGGITS

Dan and Corbett have been traversing the country for nearly 30 years, playing their hearts out to enthusiastic people - and birds. Somewhere between punk, folk, protest, and satire, their tunes are best described as “beautiful music about terrible things”. Will Corbett’s enthusiasm be enough to cover for Dan’s nacho weakness? Will Dan’s new home in the tip jar smell better than his and Corbett's old home?

THE LOVE SONGS

Brad, Craig, Frank & Salem have been working hard on their latest album, “The Loneliest Whale”. It’s finally ready for the masses and the band plans to unleash it upon almost 31 people at their release show. Will they? Or has our villain, “Weird Al” Yankovic, threatened their livelihood with his ill-timed performance at The Greek?
